Final Post

Biology was a really big course and all the stuff it covered was repeating through the different phyla's which showed how evolution works. Some of the new things I learned were like the special features in all the different animals and plants. Also the main topic of biology which is evolution I understood how some phyla were more advanced than the other due to body functions, response, feeding, internal transport etc. I wouldn't change Biology but if I had to I would spend the least amount of time teaching the not so complex phyla and more time on the other ones, but either way it was great.

Aquarium Field Trip Post

This animal is in the phylum Echinoderm, class is starfish/sun star because of its 5+ arms.
Like the sea cucumber also in the phylum Echinoderm it also has radial symmetry which means it goes evenly around the center cavity, however many rays it has. Usually Echinoderms have 5 rays, and that is similar to the sea cucumber because that flattened out would look like a star fish. Like other starfish this star fish has spiny skin and tube feet on the bottom to eat, some metabolic waste excretion, and movement.

Arthropod Post

All arthropods have a lot of legs, like most spiders have 8 and they are all joint legs witch is in the name, (Arthro=joint). All Arthropods have an exoskeleton made of chitin, and almost all Arthropods have three body regions, the head, thorax, abdomen, some Arthropods are missing the thorax and have a combination called cephalothorax (head-thorax). This picture is interesting because it show all the parts of the grasshopper on the outside and where there head, thorax, abdomen is. This video is really creepy and scary but its interesting how the thousands of ants work together to take down the bigger Arthropod, and take its blood!

Annalida

What I thought is most interesting about annelids is how they have an
advanced tube with a ring heart and all these functions when it is just a
Earth worm. It does not have a brain so it is not very smart but it has
a lot of ways to respond to it environment.
